“Ty” is a nice safe young pony. He has been to a few shows, being competitive in them. He is great for kids to ride. Starting to get his lead changes. Ty Trail rides great in either English or Western tack. He can take your child from walk trot to the Real Ponies. Very cute to look at with the best attitude.

“Luke” 15.3 + Stud TB 2001
This horse is so friendly and quiet, very safe. You forget he is not gelded yet, his manors are perfect. Very smooth to ride, light in the mouth. Trail rides great, traffic doesn’t bother him, other horses in the ring doesn’t bother him. Started over cross rails, no problems! Other students have ridden him and he is fine.
9/28/06 Takes a snaffle, martingale, 48” girth, spur (with an educated leg).

Bella- “Gold Treasure” 4 year old Thoroughbred Chestnut Mare 15.2 hands
Here is the start of Bella’s story told from Rachel….
Heather and I found Bella at a rescue farm for horses that were sent to a weekly auction. Usually the horses fates were sealed. We first went to the farm to look at horses for the lesson program. Well, things have a funny way of turning out and this mare had other ideas for us.
When we arrived at the farm, I started to play with a mule that was in pasture. AC4H has several pastures and holding areas, but we were at the big pasture where a lot of breeds were. There were drafts, mules, ponies, horses, donkeys, whatever breed you could possibly think of was out in this field. Bella was fed daily and had a lot of turn out room. We are very fortunate that they saved her and continue to save horses in need. This place is truly a horse haven and the horses there are blessed to have such nice people.

Heather saw Bella standing in a corner all by herself. Heather called me over to look at her. She had the saddest depressed eyes I have ever seen on any horse. All over her body were burns caused by chemicals. Turns out she went swimming at the race track pool that she ran at and they had put too much chlorine in the pool and it burned her. Her owners didn’t want to put the time or money into her even though she won over $10,000! Anyways, Bella and I immediately bonded. I could see the hurt and pain she was going through.
The owners of the rescue brought over a different horse for us to look at for the lesson program. When I went to look at the horse with Heather, Bella put her head on my back and followed me. I turned and looked at Heather with the best puppy dog face I could do. She sighed and said “well tack her up and if you can ride her we’ll take her home”. So, I got my saddle, tacked her up, and got on her in the pasture with the 25 other horses. (Did I mention they were LOOSE??) Anyways, she was great, so with a smile I dismounted (this was also one of the first times I would ride again without showing since Naif has died) and we loaded her into the trailer and made our 6 hour journey back home.

When we got home Bella acclimated very well. For a 4 year old who has been through so much, we didn’t know what to expect.
So far, I have ridden her a few times She is very quiet and has the best ground manners. She walks trots and canters already, but is stiff and has a hard time with her left lead canter. Since she has been here her eyes have become full of life again, as if her life is worth something now when before she didn’t care. Her burns and open wounds are also healing and her coat is starting to have a shine to it. It also no longer feels like leather when I pet her. She is slowly gaining weight too. Bella is a true rare find and I am fortunate to have her right now. We are helping each other heal and will weekly be keeping you updated on our progress.

9/28/06- Bella is slowly gaining weight, but her riding is fantastic! Easily picks up both canter leads, very quiet. We’ve started her over cross rails and goes right to them. No need for a crop or spurs, this mare just wants to please. We’ve had a few lesson students ride her and she is wonderful. Very safe.

Born on the Bayou, thoroughbred 2001 chestnut mare.16+Hands
We picked her up from a race track in Ohio April 2006. Gave her some time off to just relax and started riding her. She is quiet and will be a nice hunter when finished. She has a tattoo, but did not race much. Is clean legged, and did start to crib lightly, stops with collar or outside. She has a great mouth and goes in a frame nicely. Started her lead changes and jumping. She is used to other horses and is fine with other riders. Cross ties great, clips, great for farrier, vet and dentist Trailers fine. Very nice mover is not afraid of your leg, but will move forward nicely. She takes a 50” girth and a snaffle bit.

Beer Goggles, Thoroughbred gelding, 1998 15.3 Hands

“Goggles” is a horse from Ohio race track, amazingly very clean legged. He has great manners and easy to handle. We started riding him a week after he arrived and haven’t had a problem. He is turned out with 7 other geldings and gets along with all.
Goggles has had several of our young riders on him and all get along with him, not dangerous at all.He is cantering over cross rails lines and 2’. He has a natural lead change. He has gone trail riding and went right over the bridge. Very sensible gelding.
He eats all and will pick up weight easily.
Will make a great horse for hunters/event or pleasure.
Shamrock’s Appeal “Shamrock” 2000 15.3 hand TB mare. $3,000

Shamrock has been off the track since November. She is ready to start showing. She would be a great event or jumper prospect. Loves to jump but doesn’t get hot to the fences. She has a great automatic lead change and no vices. She loads, clips, bathes, and stands for farrier and mane pulling. Nice mare who is sane and sensible. She is jumping around 2’6’’ courses now. A 14 year old is hacking her. Shamrock is awesome in the park and on trails. Go alone or with a friend, be up front or in back.
Oops A Daisy has been sold and she has moved to Massachusetts.
