We want to congratulate everyone on a job well done this summer. All who participated in the horse shows did an amazing job and made us all proud!! The horse shows for the summer are over, and now it is time for the banquet! The banquet is going to be held this year at Lehman Farms. It is in their indoor ring, starts at 5:30 pm. Talk to your instructor to pick up a sign up sheet. The sheets have to be mailed in by August 31st. Cost is $15 per person. They are asking that you bring a dish to pass. We have a lot of riders receiving many top ribbons this year, if anyone would like to come and support our riders please let us know.
The last Empire show was at Lehman Farms. Grant Turner rode Rocky for his first time ever and received great ribbons. Alyssa Sproule showed Rhythm in the crossrails and won two blue ribbons! Lexi Wilkas worked hard this past month and it paid off, she won a blue ribbon on Cezar in the walk trot caner class.
A big thank you goes out to all of our helpers and instructors. Christy Altobello, Nora Preller, Eva Moreton, and Rachel Stiehler. Also to Bill and Heather Heberle for trucking us to the horse shows and having the best lesson horses to show on!
We have great news on Milton, Edweena, and Frankie. Milton is enjoying his retirement home. He has two young girls that are learning how to ride on him. He lives with one other horse in a big grass pasture and living the life of luxury.
Edweena is doing great at her new home. She is doing ponywalks with her 4 yr. old owner and has just become a barn favorite and a huge pet.
Frankie is back with his former owners. He has gone to a few horse shows and has pinned very well. He has a walk trot rider showing him and his former owner is showing him over fences.
Margie Heberle and Alicia Heberle just got home from Kentucky with Benji and Phil. There they competed in the National Pony Hunter Finals. This is with the best ponies from the country and you have to qualify to go. Congrats to these two on a job well done.
Alicia Heberle and Elmo have also qualified for regional’s for the Medal Maclay. This is her first year going and we wish her the best of luck.
Casey Mazzola has been gracious enough to share her horse, Cruise, with Hayley. The two have become quite a team and have won some great ribbons at shows. Casey also has been having a phenomenal year with her horse. She is in 1st right now in both of her divisions for the rated horse shows. She also filled for the Medal Mclay and had an amazing round.
Malkah and Keeper are also on a winning show streak. They had a great show at Huck Finn and brought home some beautiful ribbons.
Julia Betts has been riding Pilot in the Pre-Childrens division and has won multiple champion and reserve champion ribbons. They suit each other well.
Rachel has been showing Grafton in the first year green hunters and the two have been having a blast together. Alicia also started showing him in the junior hunters.
Bernie went to his fist horse show to school and was great. He is going to be a hard one to beat in the show ring next year.
Maggie and Albert are back showing again! They had a great first show back.
If you have any interest in showing this winter please let Heather or Rachel know.
