Hello everyone!
With winter rapidly approaching, just a reminder to dress appropriately for your lessons. Bulky jackets don’t allow your instructor to see your upper body and ensure proper form, so layers work best. Also, students should be wearing gloves in their lessons.
Lessons will be canceled Wednesday November 25th through Friday November 27th, as well as Wednesday December 23rd through Saturday December 26th. Lessons WILL be running Monday December 21st and Tuesday December 22nd. If you will not be here, you need to give your instructor at least a week’s advanced notice in order to schedule a make up lesson. If your regularly scheduled lesson is between December 23rd and December 26th and you wish to schedule a make up lesson, let your instructor know in advance.
We are also very excited to announce our winter horse camp! This will be running Monday December 28th through Wednesday December 30th. This is a great opportunity to participate in fun winter activities such as games, sledding, a sleigh ride (weather permitting), crafts, movies and hot chocolate and much more, as well as learning basic horse care, grooming, and daily riding. Lunch will be provided. The cost is $80 for one day, $140 for two days, and $200 for all three days. Space is limited so sign up fast. For more information, or to sign up talk to Amie or Nora. This would also make a fabulous Christmas present for any horse lover!
Just a few updates, Papa was sold in September and is enjoying his new family in Webster. Larry was also sold in September and his new owners just love him! Larry is greatly enjoying being spoiled and his owner’s new best friend!
Show Season for 2009
Also, with the 2009 horse show season coming to an end, we would like to congratulate some riders. Alyssa Sproule did a wonderful job with Jasper this summer as well as taking Woody and Paige to a few horseshows. Andrea Sciortino won some beautiful ribbons with Rain this summer as well. Haley Betts showed her horse Forest all year even taking him to Florida and Kentucky. She has had some fantastic wins this year. Julia Betts rode her pony Palm Pilot to several championships this year and is now moving up with her pony Phil. Julia also competed with Pilot in Florida and Kentucky. Next season should be great. Margie Heberle showed Benji all year including in Florida and at Kentucky at the National pony finals! Margie is now moving up to the children’s division with Cruise and has been doing wonderfully. The two make a great pair. Alicia Heberle has taken her horse Elmo to several shows also which include Florida and Kentucky. She has also won several championships. Alicia also qualified and went to Maclay and USEF medal finals in Pennsylvania! Malkah Fox-Epstein took keeper to a few shows and won great ribbons. Maggie Connelly, Maggie Harris and Lauren McGuire were also among the showing student this year, all of which proved themselves in the show ring with great ribbons. We are very excited for the 2010 show season!
Congratulations to all the riders that competed in 2009.
The two Home Clinics held in July and November were a huge success. We will be holding more clinics and doing a winter horse show here in 2010. Date and info to follow. Keep looking on the lesson desk for information.
