September, 2010
Fall is fast approaching; school has started. This also means another Heberle show is fast approaching. Our fall horse show date will be October 16th. Please refer to our website or the lesson book for more information regarding the show.
We just want to take a minute to remind students that lessons should be paid on a monthly basis at the first lesson of the month. This typically works out to $112.00/month. Paying this way helps our instructors keep track of payments easier and cuts down tremendously on book work.
If you need to pay on a week to week basis group lessons will be $30.00 per lesson. If you have to cancel your lesson email notification is appreciated, please send to hheberle@rochester.rr.com. Please make sure to arrive at least 10 minutes early for your lesson so you can properly groom your horse before riding.
With the warm weather still with us, all riders need to remember that Horseback riding is a sport and therefore we need to dress accordingly. No strapless or thin strap tops. A t-shirt or collared shirt is appropriate. Proper footwear is always required when at the barn, no sandals, flip flops or open toe shoes.
As with the cold weather coming, do not wear jackets/sleeves past your wrists or extra bagging clothing. The instructors cannot see your equitation and the clothing is dangerous as it can get tangled in the equipment.
Sweep up and no items left on the ground such as brushes and lead lines. Also remember the tack should be put away neatly including rinsing your bit, placing saddle pads away properly, and hanging girths on the hooks.
Horse Show News
Heberles is pleased to announce that three of our riders will be going to Zone 2 finals (NY, NJ, and PA) and the Marshall Sterling finals in September and October. They are show’s that you need to qualify for yearly.
Alicia Heberle – Starring Role
Margie Heberle – Dare to Dream
Haley Betts – Amherst.
Good luck to our riders!!!
Leasing
We have some lease options for non lesson horses. Cruise and Pilot – serious inquires only. Please email Heather at hheberle@rochester.rr.com
The lease on the horses can also be shared with approved riders. It is more then the $330/month lease as the school horses are offered for.
Leasing of the lesson horses will continue yearly. $330/month which will allow you to ride 2 times and your weekly lesson. The hack rides are not to exceed 40 minutes and is flat work only unless you are fortunate enough to have an instructor school you if they have time.
Leasing is a great way to improve and give more time in the saddle. Basic rules are:
3. Consideration/ Payment
Lessee shall pay a fee of $ 330. per month to Wm. R. Heberle Stables, Inc. at the first of each month. Lessor will take care of all standard turn out, farrier, and boarding fees, vet fees. Lessee shall pay all show expenses or other events is such arise.
If leased horse is not available due to lameness or other issue, lessee can ride a substitute horse. The lease is not to be extended unless no other available horses for lessee.
4. Use of Horse and Limitations
Lease covenants not to use the horse for any purpose other than standard riding practices. Lessor promises that said horse is capable and suited for standard riding practices. Lessor explicitly denies the right to any other party for any sublease agreement, barring all other riders except the Lessee’s instructor or chosen professional rider where appropriate. The leased horse is also used as a lesson horse therefore the lease rides need to work around the horses work schedule. Riding times to be pre determined. Some flexibility is allowed in changing riding times.
5. Instruction for Care
Lessee will follow all practices consistent with quality care. Horse to be housed at Heberle Stables, located at 751 Browncroft Blvd. This includes cleaning the tack after each ride, putting all items away properly. Grooming horse prior and after riding, checking for clean water bucket. Notifying staff if lame or other issue seen on horse. Horse to be put away clean and cool. Riding time not to exceed 45 minutes. No jumping, ground poles, flying lead changes or trail riding without prior approval.
Have a safe start to school and enjoy the fall.
